Συζήτηση για περιβαλλοντικά προβλήματα ανά χωρα

Σήμερα Τρίτη 3εις Αυγούστου μαζευτήκαμε σε ομαδες των 5 ατόμων,με συμμετέχοντες έναν από κάθε χωρα, για να συζητήσουμε τα περιβαντολογικά πρόβλημα που αντιμετωπίζει η κάθε χωρα και ενδεχομένως να βρούμε και λύσεις που έχουν εφαρμογή σε ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο. Καταληξαμε στα εξης (στα αγγλικά γιατι τα γρουπ ήταν μικτά όπως είπαμε):


WASTE MANAGEMENT

Landfills - open landfills (illegal in EU)
People now separate the garbage and recycle WORKS but still Lithuania and Greece has some doubts about that same as Spain and Slovenia.

Reasons: -people want really to help and there are couple of organizations that help in that
              -they still exist open landfills because there is still corruption and they cost much to replace the
              -lack of info about the con sequences in the media

Consequences: -Trash everywhere (water/soil)
                        -Abuse of earth's natural sources when no recycling


WATER POLLUTION

-Uncontrolled use of pesticides,and lack of info to the farmers
-Industry but discarding heavy metals to drinkable water and generally garbage in the rivers and soil.
-Acid rain through the water circle because of air and water pollution

Reasons: -lack of info and control by the state
Consequences:
-falling of drinkable water level in the sources, and some water-lands experience problems
-species extinct,circle of nutrition and food chain has impact because sweet waters>sea>fish> eventually us


DESERTIFICATION (NOT for SLO NL LT)

-Lack of rains
-Greece lakes going dry,year by year and wetlands are in jeopardy
-People abusing water resources aren't aware of the problem yet


DEFORESTATION

-Spain not an important issue but still exists
-Greece has a big part of the country burned and is a serious problem
-Holland recently had a fire in an important natural resources
-Slovenia has not fire problem yet
-Lithuania fires getting stronger by the wind


BURNING THE FIELDS BEFORE/AFTER CULTIVATION

Uncontrolled situation in most of the countries since the measures they seams to take are not that effective


PEOPLE

-Lithuania people participate in campaigns but they still think that it is far from theirs and DON'T CARE
-Few people think about it but they have other "concerns" too like football, TV,bla bla bla
-Dutch are not really sensitive because they don't have serious problems themselves but are generally motivated of what happens to other countries
-Slovenians are pretty organized on garbage separation and division but respond to actions about helping the enviroment
-Greece recent years more and more people start to react to environmental help, and they want to participate actively in saving environment but still government actions towards that is far far behind, as a result people face difficulties in their reaction. Furthermore the reactions are still in regional and generally local level. Finally people really need a push to start reacting seriously to the problem and that may mean more organized Non Governmental Organization
